No palco, esse corpo espelha como tudo é vivido da perspetiva inaugural. A primeira mulher que nasceu com dois corações. Um monstro com a alma tripartida e as saias são aquilo que carrega de mais fútil no corpo. As feições mímicas da intérprete manifestam a encarnação de um novo deus e do velho diabo. A loucura personificada num corpo de mulher, de uma menina de areia, que corporaliza como é desmontar-se para salvar a casa que ardeu no mundo que ninguém vive. O dia do seu nascimento foi o dia da morte das coisas simples. Uma peça na tentativa de justificar uma existência marcada pela lenda da mulher que nunca pode ser, e isso diz tudo não? Sim. Esta é a rapariga que usa saias nos dias de vento, mas desta vez, sou só um esboço.
On stage, this body mirrors how everything is experienced from the inaugural perspective. The first woman born with two hearts. A monster with a tripartite soul and skirts that are the most futile thing on her body. The mimic features of the performer manifest the incarnation of a new god and the old devil. Madness personified in a woman’s body, a sand girl, who embodies what it’s like to dismantle oneself in order to save the house that burned down in a world that nobody lives in. The day she was born was the day simple things died. A piece in an attempt to justify an existence marked by the legend of the woman who can never be, and that says it all, doesn’t it? Yes. This is the girl who wears skirts on windy days, but this time I’m just a sketch.

Carolina Batalha é licenciada em Dança pela FMH-UL, incluindo um semestre em Poznan, Polónia na AWF e outro em estágio no Movement Lisboa, onde atualmente trabalha. Frequenta o Mestrado em Ensino de Dança, na ESD, IPL. Foi voluntária na Cruz Vermelha na unidade de acolhimento SITA, como facilitadora de aulas de dança criativa para jovens refugiados afegãos. Recentemente participou no Cora Dance Festival Edição 2024, como intérprete-criadora e intérprete de “Waveland”, uma peça de dança de M. Carroll de Maya. Atualmente dá aulas de dança contemporânea e realiza trabalhos na área da criação. Recentemente, em maio, realizou uma Residência Artística do 1.º Ciclo nos Estúdios Victor Córdon e irá orientar duas masterclasses no festival INNERCORE.
Carolina Batalha has a degree in Dance from FMH-UL, including a semester in Poznan, Poland at AWF and another at Movement Lisboa, where she currently works. She is studying for a Masters in Dance Teaching at ESD, IPL. She volunteered at the Red Cross in the SITA reception unit, facilitating creative dance classes for young Afghan refugees. She recently took part in the Cora Dance Festival Edition 2024, as a performer-creator and performer of ‘Waveland’, a dance piece by M. Carroll de Maya. She currently teaches contemporary dance and works in the creative field. Recently, she carried out an Artistic Residency at Victor Córdon Studios and will be leading masterclasses at the INNERCORE festival.
