Memorizo quem fui e o que senti.
Desapego-me de tudo o que experenciei.
Guardo-o no interior da minha pele.
“Estranho” quem sou.
Navego na simultaneidade deste Ser.
Temo perder-me se ousar definir o que quer que seja.
Fico-me nesta incerteza de ser, ou do Ser.
Navego neste desequilíbrio inerente à vida,
(Onde) no final do dia apenas busco por algo que
Torne esta existência tolerável.
Navego na dor, da mesma forma que o amor:
Espero à beira-mar que o vento venha e limpe.
Limpe o que a alma já não consegue carregar.
Conforto-me no estranhar de quem sou.
Conforto-me no não saber o que aí vem.
Fico-me a percorrer a certeza.
A certeza desta incerteza que me assenhora.
I hold onto who I was and what I felt.
I let go of everything I have experienced.
I keep it within my skin.
How ‘strange’ I am.
I navigate the simultaneity of this Being.
I fear losing myself if I dare to define anything at all.
I remain in this uncertainty of being, or of the Being.
I navigate this imbalance inherent in life,
(Where) at the end of the day I seek only something that
Makes this existence tolerable.
I navigate pain, just as I do love:
I wait by the sea for the wind to come and clear the air.
To clear away what the soul can no longer bear.
I take comfort in the strangeness of who I am.
I take comfort in not knowing what lies ahead.
I find myself wandering through certainty.
The certainty of this uncertainty that holds me in its grip.

Rafaela Nunes
Nascida em Lisboa, Rafaela Nunes iniciou os seus estudos na Lev’arte, passando pela Dancespot e, mais tarde, pelo programa Athletic Training for Specific Dancers.
Em 2021 integra a companhia júnior Elephant in the Black Box Dance Company, e em 2022, junta-se ao Quorum Project. Nesse mesmo ano, estreia “IMAGINARIUM” no Festival de Dança Contemporânea de Lisboa, mais tarde selecionada para a Mostra Nacional de Jovens Criadores.
E, em 2024, estreia “KIMLIK”, uma cocriação com Lizi Manisa na Performact.
Participou na 1.ª edição do AZA Dance Program, sob direção artística de Inês Pedruco. Fez também parte da produção “Bach/Xenakis – entre labirintos e constelações”, uma coprodução OCP e Teatro São Luiz.
Atualmente, encontra-se a trabalhar como freelancer.
Born in Lisbon, Rafaela Nunes began her training at Lev’arte, before moving on to Dancespot and, later, the Athletic Training for Specific Dancers programme.
In 2021, she joined the junior company of the Elephant in the Black Box Dance Company, and in 2022, she joined the Quorum Project. That same year, she premiered “IMAGINARIUM” at the Lisbon Contemporary Dance Festival; the piece was later selected for the National Showcase of Young Creators.
And in 2024, she premiered “KIMLIK”, a co-creation with Lizi Manisa at Performact.
She took part in the first edition of the AZA Dance Programme, under the artistic direction of Inês Pedruco. She was also part of the production “Bach/Xenakis – between labyrinths and constellations”, a co-production by OCP and Teatro São Luiz.
She is currently working as a freelancer.
