“Howl” é um vídeo experimental que parte da ideia de que os corpos podem ser coisas sem que essa coisificação seja necessariamente algo negativo; é antes um jogo de ligações e de abstração física que tenta também neutralizar o género. Mesmo com este ponto de partida, as leituras desta peça audiovisual podem ser muito variadas. Inspira-se na série fotográfica “Form & Function” da artista britânica Chloe Rosser e na peça de dança “NANA” de Cristina Gómez.
‘Howl’ is an experimental video that starts from the idea that bodies can be things without this ‘objectification’ necessarily being something negative; it is rather a game of interlocking and physical abstraction that also tries to neutralise gender. Even with this point of departure, the readings of this audiovisual piece can be very varied. It is inspired by the photographic series ‘Form & Function’ by British artist Chloe Rosser and the dance piece ‘NANA’ by Cristina Gómez.

É bailarina desde 1998, formada em Valência e Barcelona. Em 2007 começou a interessar-se pela imagem, utilizando a sua formação artística em dança para investigar através do vídeo e da fotografia a imagem e o movimento do corpo na sala de aula e no palco. Interessada pela tecnologia da imagem e de forma autodidata, adquire um vasto conhecimento do vídeo e começa a realizar as suas próprias peças audiovisuais onde o corpo e a imagem são o objeto principal das suas criações.
Cristina Gómez
Licenciada em Dança Contemporânea pela London Contemporary Dance School e em Jornalismo pela Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca. A sua inclinação para o movimento, o palco e a comunicação levam-na a pesquisar, criar e produzir as suas próprias obras, que apresenta em numerosos festivais e teatros, de 2010 a 2020 sob a designação EnÁmbar Danza, e atualmente como Cristina Gómez. Interessa-se pela dança e por tudo o que gira à sua volta, mesmo o que aparentemente não tem nada a ver com ela, mas que a pode ativar. O humor é um ingrediente que costuma estar presente na maioria das suas criações. Também a hibridação de linguagens, sendo comum encontrar nas suas peças o uso do vídeo e da voz, para além do movimento.
Gema Iglesias
Is a modern dancer since 1998, trained in Valencia and Barcelona. In 2007 she became interested in the image, using her artistic training in dance to investigate through video and photography the image and the movement of the body in the classroom and on stage. Interested in image technology and in a self-taught way, she acquires a wide knowledge of video, and begins to make her own audiovisual pieces where the body and the image are the main object of her creations.
Cristina Gómez
Graduated in Contemporary Dance at the London Contemporary Dance School and in Journalism at the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca. Her inclination for movement, the stage and communication lead her to research, create and produce her own works, which she presents in numerous festivals and theatres, from 2010 to 2020 under the label EnÁmbar Danza, and currently as Cristina Gómez. She is interested in dance and everything that revolves around it, even what apparently has nothing to do with it, but can activate it. Humour is an ingredient that is usually present in most of her creations. Also the hybridisation of languages, being common to find in her pieces the use of video and voice, as well as movement.
