E se aquilo que tentamos esconder fosse, na realidade, melhor espelho que aquilo que mostramos ao mundo? Num palco, dentro de um vestido apertado, habita uma pele sem cabimento.
Em Guilty Pleasure (um work-in-progress), a vergonha preenche o espaço entre o que somos e aquilo que queremos ser e coloca-nos a pergunta: quando é que ser tu próprio deixou de ser uma aposta vencedora? E será que ser autêntico é sobre ganhar alguma coisa ou apenas sobre a possibilidade de ocupar, confortavelmente, a pele que vestimos?
Esta peça propõe explorar, precisamente, o que fica nesse espaço: o que existe entre o que somos e o que tentamos criar com as expectativas externas que adotamos como se fossem nossas e o que acontece quando entendemos que a verdadeira liberdade começa quando deixamos de tentar caber e nos permitimos expandir.
O que aperta segura e, talvez, a beleza esteja na soltura.
What if what we try to hide is, in reality, a truer reflection of ourselves than what we show to the world? On stage, inside a tight dress, dwells a body that doesn’t quite fit.
In Guilty Pleasure (a work-in-progress), shame fills the space between who we are and who we want to be, and poses the question: when did being yourself cease to be a winning bet? And is being authentic about winning something, or simply about the possibility of comfortably inhabiting the skin we wear?
This piece sets out to explore precisely what lies in that space: what exists between who we are and what we try to create from the external expectations we adopt as if they were our own, and what happens when we realise that true freedom begins when we stop trying to fit in and allow ourselves to expand.
What tightens secures, and perhaps beauty lies in letting go.

Biografia Biography
Catarina Casqueiro
Catarina Casqueiro é coreógrafa e intérprete. As suas criações nascem da exploração do seu imaginário, transformando imagens e universos ficcionais em propostas coreográficas. Formada pela Escola de Dança do Conservatório Nacional, realizou um estágio na Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (Israel), com o apoio da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, e aprofundou a sua formação internacionalmente.
É autora de obras criadas para o Projeto Quorum, Kayzer Ballet, Companhia Júnior do Funchal, Estúdio 13, Reboot e AZA. Desde 2018, desenvolve também um percurso de criação em parceria com Tiago Coelho, explorando a simbiose dos corpos e as ilusões de ótica, cujas obras foram distinguidas internacionalmente. Atualmente integra “F*cking Future”, de Marco Ferreira.
Catarina Casqueiro is a choreographer and dancer. Her creations stem from an exploration of her imagination, transforming images and fictional worlds into choreographic works. A graduate of the National Conservatoire’s School of Dance, she undertook an internship at the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (Israel), with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and furthered her training internationally.
She has created works for the Quorum Project, Kayzer Ballet, the Funchal Junior Company, Estúdio 13, Reboot and AZA. Since 2018, she has also been developing a creative partnership with Tiago Coelho, exploring the symbiosis of bodies and optical illusions, with their works receiving international recognition. She is currently a member of Marco Ferreira’s “F*cking Future”.
